Breast and Gynecology Days | Day 1 | Breast Imaging
Breast cancer accounts for 12.5% of all new annual cancer cases worldwide, making it the most common cancer in the world. 1
Early breast cancer diagnosis through comprehensive screening programs is vital to improving patient outcomes, and recent advancements in breast imaging technology have significantly enhanced both the accessibility and accuracy of these programs.
Over the last decades, breast ultrasound has seen remarkable technological advancements, evolving from a low spatial resolution – a grayscale-limited technique – to a highly performing, multiparametric modality.
Additionally to ultrasound, MRI plays a vital role in breast cancer by providing detailed images to detect tumors and evaluate their size and spread – MRI is especially effective for assessing lesions and monitoring treatment response. As part of screening programs, MRI is expected to play an increasing role, particularly for patients with high breast density.
During this first webinar focused on Breast Imaging, the specialists will share practical lessons on using different imaging technologies and building the connection between diagnostics and treatment. 2
