Imaging and Diagnostic Tools in Pulmonary Embolism CT
Computed Tomography (CT) is a decisive diagnostic tool for detecting pulmonary embolism (PE), a life-threatening condition. CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) is the gold standard for PE diagnosis, offering high sensitivity and specificity. Advanced CT technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) applications, allow for screening for pulmonary embolisms even in venous CT scans, allowing for faster and more confident diagnosis, as well as further streamlining image analysis. To communicate PE results, different methods of visualisation are possible to create impressive single-key result images. CT diagnostics in PE exemplify a crucial intersection of technology and medicine, facilitating prompt and reliable diagnosis for improved patient outcomes.
